Three roundtables to shape together the future of Pelagos

The Pelagos Initiative with the support of the Pew Bertarelli Ocean Legacy, is organising the Pelagos Initiative Forum, an occasion for the different Pelagos conservation stakeholders to connect and discuss potential cooperation plans and shared goals.

The forum will be composed of 3 round tables:

• ROUNDTABLE 1: The Pelagos Sanctuary – a shared ambition for sustainable blue economy and climate change resilience
• ROUNDTABLE 2:  Harnessing initiatives and catalyzing actions for the 30X30 Mediterranean ambition – Marine Spatial Planning and other tools to achieve effective ecosystem-based conservation in Pelagos and beyond
• ROUNDTABLE 3: The science and technology we need for defining and implementing effective associated protective measures (APMs) for the North Western Mediterranean PSSA – with a particular focus on the Pelagos Sanctuary

The aim of this forum is to facilitate cooperation between the different key actors and to make recommendations for joint and transnational actions, partnerships and projects that could potentially be funded by the Pelagos Initiative. The forum will also be organising different working group sessions after each of the roundtables for more practical cooperation.
