The UN Ocean Conference (UNOC) highlights blue skills as essential for sustainable ocean economies, marine conservation, and advancing SDG 14 (sustainably using the oceans, seas, and marine resources).

Aligned with UNESCO/IOC and the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM), they are also vital for strengthening coastal communities, particularly within the EU Ocean Pact and the future Mediterranean Pact.

Recognised as shared priorities across EU sea-basin strategies (WestMED, Atlantic, and Black Sea), blue skills and ocean literacy are central to ongoing policy dialogue.

This workshop offers a key opportunity to assess progress, exchange experiences, and guide the WestMED Co-Presidency in shaping future actions, including Technical Groups and cross-sea basin cooperation.

When: 11 June 2025 | 10:15-11:15
Where: UNOC Green Zone (‘La Baleine’), within the France-3 Oceans Pavilion in the area of the French Ministry of the Sea
