WestMED Morocco will be present at this fair as part of the EU Delegation stand. On February 7 (14:30-16:00), Elke Westenberger from WestMED’s Moroccan National Hub will present the WestMED Initiative- including some examples of practical projects taking place in Morocco as a result of this Initiative.

The 7^th edition of the Halieutis Fair:  “Research and innovation for a sustainable fisheries sector”

Under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, operators in the fishing, seafood processing and aquaculture sectors will meet in Agadir for the 7^th edition of the Halieutis Fair, from February 6^th to February 9^th of 2025.

The Halieutis Show is an international showcase for six segments : fleet & machinery, recovery & process, institutional, international, animation and innovation. It is a show resolutely turned towards the international markets with a clear and sectorized offer. It is also an observatory of trends and innovations that brings together proactive world leaders who are attentive to consumer trends. This event is also a platform for generating business opportunities.

The current context is characterized by the reform and modernization of the fishing sector all over the world, following the aging of fishing fleets, the scarcity of fish resources, the evolution of consumption habits, the imperious and urgent need to steer the world’s economies towards sustainable development, heralding the birth of a quasi-global movement of investment in the fisheries sector, of which trade fairs are a real lever. New challenges are therefore to be taken up on a global scale.
