The General Fisheries Commission for the Mediterranean (GFCM) of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), as part of its 2030 Strategy for sustainable fisheries and
aquaculture in the Mediterranean and the Black Sea, is working on developing principles to promote responsible investment in aquaculture.

The aim is to agree upon a set of principles that will help create a more enabling environment for responsible investment in aquaculture, support blue economy in the region and ultimately enhance the benefits of such investments for the people in the Mediterranean and Black Sea countries
