Project partners of Blue growth smart Adriatic Ionian – BLUEAIR project will gather on a Final event – Shaping together the sustainable Blue economy of the Adriatic-Ionian macro-region, that will be held in a hybrid format (in person and online) on July 11th in Trieste. The Final event will be organized by the Lead partner of the BLUEAIR project AREA Science Park Trieste.

Gathered partners on the occasion of the Final event will reflect the future opportunities and challenges for an innovation driven blue economy across the Adriatic-Ionian macroregion and the role of European Territorial Cooperation in the context of the wider European and Mediterranean scenario.

At the Final event the BLUEAIR project’s main achievements and legacy will be presented in the light of the new IPA ADRION Programme, as well as objectives and priorities of the Interreg IPA ADRION Programme for 2021-2027. Also, representatives of the LP will present the main results of the BLUEAIR project and launch of the Innovation Community within the project.

On the first thematic panel the focus will be on the BLUEAIR Innovation Community, which has been launched to join forces and take action to promote coordinated innovation cooperation in the Blue economy of the Adriatic and Ionian Region. The panel will discuss the Community’s purpose and mission and frame it into the wider context of trans-regional collaboration.

The participants of the second thematic panel will explore the ambitious goal of designing a macro-region wide Innovation strategy for the Blue economy. Also, they will discuss the progress and future prospects of the Blue Smart Specialization Strategy in the Adriatic-Ionian region, with a specific focus on the IPA countries.

Panelists on the third thematic panel – Blue skills to feed jobs will discuss about how to boost the next generation of blue careers through advanced digital, green and soft skills, how to match the training offer to the market needs by building people and not just creating curricula along with providing a competence framework on blue skills.

On the fourth thematic panel – Technology foresight potentials for innovation and technological development on selected Blue economy sectors in the Adriatic-Ionian region: alternative fuels, robotics, aquaculture, waterborne transport will be discussed.
