As part of the Extended Programme of the European Sustainable Energy Week, this event will discuss how the fit-for-55 package in general and the AFIR, FuelEU Maritime and ETS revision can bring about the needed decarbonization in the shipping sector.

The discussion will address the question of bunkering infrastructure, propulsion technologies and the regulatory framework needed to deploy zero-emission technologies, supporting both the EU’s climate and energy independence objectives. While the European Parliament and Council are finalising their positions on the legislative proposals, this event will be an excellent occasion to take stock of the policy debate and exchange views ahead of the upcoming trilogue negotiations.
