Seafuture 2023 announcement poster

The eight edition of SEAFUTURE, THE HUB ON THE MEDITERRANEAN SEA FOR THE BLUE ECONOMY, will take place from June 5-8, 2023 inside the La Spezia Naval Base.

Given its strategic location and the close collaboration with the Italian Navy, also for 2023, it is confirmed as a key hub for all players in the marine technologies area: Companies, Institutions, Universities, Research Institutes, Technology Clusters and Startups.

The focus of this edition will be on:

 Security, not only in the area of defense, but also to ensure a free, shared and sustainable use of the maritime environment;

– Technological innovation with particular reference to emerging fields of research, such as cyber security, unmanned and underwater;

 New technologies in the naval area with particular interest in a dual-use perspective. Seafuture once again this year proves to be a privileged meeting place between the global naval industry and foreign delegations, confirmed by the increasingly consolidated collaboration with the Italian Navy- including the presence of more than 90 invited foreign delegations, more than 100 already confirmed exhibitors , as well as more than 7 national pavilions from aaround the world.

 Green & blue innovation, with special reference to Energy transition (such as alternative fuels and “maritime” energy communities) and Blue and circular economy (marine protection, underwater noise, marine clusters supporting SMEs, marine litter etc.) according to the European Commission initiative Mission Oceans and water

Also in the 2023 edition, the WestMED Assistance Mechanism will be active through thematic events and workshops (eg maritime clusters). It will also gather National Hubs from the ten countries and stakeholders from the Mediterranean basin, as an occasion to conceive and further promote EU funded projects and common initiatives.

SEAFUTURE’s main goal is to establish solid and lasting connections that can ensure a productive exchange of know-how and support a consumption-production model based on innovation, recovery and reuse of materials in terms of sustainability.

The interest from Companies, Startups and Foreign delegations so far suggests that this will be an extraordinary edition.
