Le Hub National Espagne facilite la tâche des acteurs locaux et régionaux en fournissant à la communauté WestMED une expertise sur l’économie bleue, en aidant les porteurs de projets à trouver les bons partenaires grâce à leur vaste réseau sur les deux rives de la Méditerranée occidentale, en soutenant le développement d’idées de projets, en aidant à rédiger les demandes d’appels d’offres et en donnant des conseils sur les opportunités de financement les plus applicables.
Le Hub national (co-)organise des événements pour aider à mener des discussions sur différents sujets maritimes et peut être trouvé lors de réunions liées à l’économie bleue (en ligne) pour partager son expertise.

Dr Marta Pascual
Marta Pascual is the Spanish National Hub for the Western Mediterranean Initiative (WestMED) as well as for the Atlantic Action Plan.
She has also been appointed as an expert working for the EU MSP Platform and has also been working as a Senior Expert for the EU Commission in works related to Maritime Spatial Planning, Blue Growth, Blue Economy, Circular Economy, Natural Capital Accounting, Biodiversity modelling and Ecosystem Services modelling.
Academically, she holds a PhD in Maritime Spatial Planning, is a former Ikerbasque Post-Doctoral Researcher and currently an Associated Researcher at the Basque Centre for Climate Change (BC3, Spain), where she is advancing with the Eco-modelling Research Team on the development of marine ecosystem services models using ARIES (a semantic-modelling platform that uses artificial intelligence and machine reasoning following the FAIR principles).
She has more than 13 years of professional experience in the application and implementation of various European environmental and maritime directives such as the MSFD; MSPD; Habitats and Birds Directive, WFD.
Her experience in research includes various lines of spatial analysis, stakeholder engagement, scenario mapping, participatory mapping and marine and coastal research applied to maritime policies such as MSP, Ecosystem Services Mapping/Modelling, Integrated Coastal Zone Management, Biological Valuation and Ecosystem Services Valuation (ESV).
Gabriele Galassi
Gabriele Galassi, Junior Consultant at Ecorys, is a Political Science graduate specialised in EU public policy and governance.
He gained his bachelor’s from the University of Bologna and completed a 6 months exchange programme at the Universitet Wroclawski in Wroclaw, Poland. Later on, he graduated from a double degree master’s programme in European Governance within the University of Utrecht in the Netherlands and the University of Konstanz in Germany.
Gabriele is currently a junior consultant at Ecorys working for the Madrid regional office. During his time at Ecorys, he has gained experience in delivering research, communications and stakeholder engagement consulting services to European Commission funded programmes, including the H2020 project “COME RES” and the Rural Energy Communities Advisory Hub for DG ENER.
Furthermore, he has been involved in evaluation and monitoring tasks of regional and national energetic and climate plans and has developed a portfolio focusing on regional development and growth, due to his previous experience as ERDF funded project monitoring support and accountant.
