Greening the Future: Advanced Tools & Strategic Planning for Marina Sustainability | 1 july 2025 | Transport Malta, Ħal Lija
01 July 2025 - 01 July 2025
Stephanie Vella (WestMED National Hub Malta)) will be a speaking at this training event on the topic of ‘Partnering for a Sustainable Blue Future: Insights and Project Opportunities offered through the WestMED Initiative’
Reaching carbon neutrality in maritime transport will take both short- and medium-term solutions. In the short term, this means using transition fuels like LNG. In the medium term, it involves cleaner options such as green hydrogen, methanol, electricity, and wind power — though these are not yet widely available.
This transition can be especially challenging for smaller ships and marinas. That’s where POWER4MED comes in. The project aims to help these operators by creating the POWER4MED Supporting Structure — a team of experts and practical toolkits designed to guide the shift to greener operations in three key areas: fishing boats, commercial vessels and marinas.
Yachting Malta Ltd established to promote Malta as a destination of excellence in the yachting sector. With a strong commitment to innovation, sustainability and quality, Yachting Malta plays a key role in the development and enhancement of the island’s marina infrastructure and maritime services.
As part of its ongoing commitment to sustainability and innovation in the maritime sector, Yachting Malta Ltd is proud to support the POWER4MED Marina Managers Programme. This initiative is designed to empower marina operators with the knowledge, tools and expert support needed to navigate the transition toward carbon neutrality.
By focusing on practical solutions and strategic planning, the programme addresses the specific challenges faced by marina facilities in adopting cleaner energy sources and more sustainable operations. Through this collaboration, Yachting Malta reinforces its role as a leader in driving environmental progress within Malta’s maritime landscape.
