The Cyprus Marine and Maritime Institute, in collaboration with the National Technical University of Athens, will host the Regional Forum for Blue Skills in Athens on February 26th, 2026.

This event brings together key stakeholders from academia, industry, policy, and the wider maritime cluster to explore the evolving skills landscape of the Blue Economy.

As maritime industries undergo rapid transformation driven by digitalization, decarbonization, automation, and artificial intelligence, the need for new competencies and adaptive workforce strategies has never been more critical.

Hosted at the National Technical University of Athens, this Forum aims to foster dialogue on the future of maritime professions across the full ship lifecycle – from design and construction, through operations and maintenance, to dismantling and recycling.

Special emphasis is placed on the green transition, digital transformation, and the human dimension of technological change.
Through expert panels, interactive discussions, and knowledge exchange, the Forum seeks to:

• Identify emerging skills needs in the maritime sector
• Bridge the gap between education and industry requirements
• Present our AI-powered LLM tool for maritime career guidance and skills mapping
• Engage students in an interactive AI-based discussion on future maritime professions
