Imed Zammit (WestMED Tunisia) is one of the keynote speakers

This MedThink 5+5 Thematic Seminar gathers experts and institutions from Western Mediterranean countries to discuss how the region can build a climate‑resilient, integrated transport system amid rising climate risks and geopolitical instability.

Climate change is already disrupting transport infrastructure, logistics and supply chains, increasing the cost of inaction. The seminar highlights the need for corridor‑based, multimodal planning, stronger cross‑border cooperation, and coordinated investment strategies rather than isolated national measures.

Speakers will stress the importance of multilevel governance, ensuring that adaptation efforts reduce, not deepen, territorial inequalities. Financing resilience is central: mechanisms to quantify long‑term returns, blended finance, public‑private partnerships, and the catalytic role of multilateral development banks are all key to closing the investment gap.

The programme includes sessions on barriers and opportunities for resilient transport, territorial cohesion, and financing models, followed by concluding remarks.

When: 23 June 2026 | 14:30-19:00
Where: Rabat, Morocco
