The Misrata Free Zone will host the Libyan International Maritime Economy Forum on January 10 and 11, with broad international participation including leading experts and specialists in the fields of maritime transport, logistics, and international trade, according to an announcement on the zone’s Facebook page.

The zone added that the forum “aims to support and develop the maritime economy and strengthen Libya’s position as an active regional center for trade and maritime services,” given the country’s strategic geographical location linking Africa, Europe, and the Mediterranean basin.

International Platform

According to the statement, the forum is an effective international platform for exchanging experiences and building real partnerships, as well as exploring opportunities for regional cooperation and investment, contributing to the development of maritime infrastructure and improving the efficiency of supply chains and logistics services.

Experts and specialists from European and African countries are participating in the forum to discuss the latest global trends in the maritime economy and ways to enhance cooperation between Libya and its regional and international neighbors in this vital sector.

The forum is being held under the auspices of the General Union of Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture, in cooperation with the Libya Trade Network and the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport.
