The joint Italy–Malta WestMED event returns for the 4th consecutive year – bringing together national institutions, research bodies, investors and maritime stakeholders from both countries for two days of targeted cooperation.

Day one focuses on accelerating TRL8–9 project uptake, connecting innovators with implementers, adopters and investment actors to drive concrete deployment across the Mediterranean. Sessions also explore how Italy and Malta can jointly advance decarbonisation, digitalisation, security and infrastructure development in shipping, ports and offshore services.

Day two shifts to the future of Mediterranean skills and funding. Blue Skills networks, universities, VET institutes and managing authorities will map available training pathways and opportunities, followed by a roundtable distilling key insights from WestMED Technical Groups for upcoming INTERREG programmes.
