A dedicated workshop will be organised on July 9 titled: Further synergies among the Macro-regional and Sea Basin Strategies ‘Cooperation potential at the thematic level’ with active participation from a.o.  Matteo Bocci (WestMED central team), Leonardo Manzari (WestMED national Hub Italy), and Marta Pascual (National Hub spain for WestMED and the Atlantic).

The EU Macro‑regional and Sea Basin Strategies Days are coming back in July 2026 and will take place on 8–9 July 2026 in Brussels.

Originally planned for 1–2 July, the event dates have been exceptionally adjusted due to major events taking place in Brussels during that period, which have led to very high demand for accommodation. As a result, most hotels were already fully booked and the remaining options prohibitively expensive. Following feedback from stakeholders and careful consideration, the organisers have therefore decided to reschedule the event to 8–9 July 2026.

The event is co‑organised by the Directorate‑General for Regional and Urban Policy (DG REGIO) and the Directorate‑General for Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (DG MARE). Once again, it will gather stakeholders from across the eight EU Macro‑regional and Sea Basin Strategies, representatives from EU institutions and programmes, and actors from civil society.

Participants will have the opportunity to exchange on key policy priorities, reinforce cooperation across Strategies, and highlight concrete achievements and ongoing initiatives.

Networking Village – Call for Stands (closed)

On 1 July 2026 at 17:00, the event will open the Networking Village, a dynamic space designed to showcase projects, exchange experiences, and facilitate connections across the Strategies’ community.

Organisations are invited to submit proposals for a stand. This includes:

• Projects and project partners
• Priority areas and thematic coordinators
• Strategy secretariats
• NGOs and civil‑society initiatives
• Interreg programmes
• Other relevant stakeholders and initiatives
