Libya has a rich maritime heritage and a vast coastline that  represents a vital tributary for sustainable economic development. Shaping a promising future for Libya inevitably requires investing this wealth intelligently and sustainably.

This WestMED supported workshop is a national initiative to unify visions and build bridges between the education and blue economy sectors. It is a dialogue platform that brings together decision-makers, academics, experts, and the private sector to lay the practical foundations for preparing national cadres capable of leading the blue economy sectors, driving development, and placing Libya on the global sustainable economy map.

Objectives:
• Diagnose the reality of higher education and scientific research programs related to the blue economy in Libya.
• Identify skills gaps and training needs for personnel in sustainable maritime sectors.
• Formulate a shared vision and national framework for integrating blue economy concepts into academic and research curricula and programs.
• Develop practical, implementable recommendations to promote effective partnerships between the public, private, and academic sectors.
