Water scarcity is an increasingly urgent challenge in Puglia and across the Mediterranean, pushing institutions and stakeholders to accelerate regulatory updates and investments in smarter water management. In this context, the reuse of purified water is emerging as a strategic resource for agriculture, industry and civil use, aligned with the EU’s broader water resilience goals.

On Thursday, 29 January at 9:30 a.m., AIDARA with the support of the WestMED Assistance Mechanism will host the event “The reuse of purified water as a strategic resource for agricultural, industrial and civil users.” The seminar concludes AIDARA’s first cycle of specialised events, following the desalination-focused session in Palermo last July 2025.

This event in Bari will explore Puglia’s unique water management model and provide an updated picture of current challenges and opportunities, featuring contributions from Italian and international experts, sector stakeholders, entrepreneurs and industry managers.

The discussion will also connect regional needs with EU-level strategies, including the 2025 Water Resilience Strategy aimed at restoring the water cycle, ensuring clean and accessible water, and fostering a competitive, water‑smart economy.
